Microsoft unveiled the latest version of its mbile operating system Windows mobile 6.5. The user interface is eye catching.

Microsoft officially unveiled the latest version of its mobile operating system windows mobile 6.5 at mobile world congress 2009. The new OS featured useful enhancements, back up and restore service, improved mobile web browser and an application store. The big difference you can observe in Windows Mobile 6.5 is the user interface.

In first glimpse you can observe its new look. Screens looks like iPhone. The new software follows Microsoft’s pattern of replicating their PC operating system for a small handheld device, though with a more flashy appearance.

As Microsoft design their products as user friendly, you can see more user friendly features in windows mobile 6.5. You can set a home screen with relevant information. My phone service offers you to back up your phone’s information to a password protected web service. Windows mobile 6.5 includes Windows Market Place for Mobile, a similar service as iPhone app store. internet Explorer for mobile is improved.

The user interface is designed to be finger friendly. But the most reviewers are saying that its lacking in allowing more than one finger when operating.

Microsoft is going to end the availability of Windows 7 beta download.

As Microsoft got wonderful response and feedback for their engineering needs they are going to end the availability.

“

The amount of feedback we have received has been amazing and continues to pour in. We are at a point where we have more than enough beta testers and feedback coming in to meet our engineering needs, so we are beginning to plan the end of general availability for Windows 7 Beta.

Because enthusiasm continues to be so high for the Windows 7 Beta and we don’t want anyone to miss out we will keep the Beta downloads open through February 10th. Customers who have started but not completed the download process will be able to do so through February 12th.

Will Windows 7 kill Linux on the desktop?

Microsoft released Windows 7 beta version recently. There are lot of reviews posted in the web on Windows 7. I found some of the reviews, most are given positive response to Windows 7. And some people saying that Windows 7 will kill desktop Linux.

Look at the reviews given below.

Nick Farrell is saying Windows 7 is enough to kill Linux on the desktop.

The Linux crowd were too busy talking about their superiority on the server and ignored the desktop to the OS’s eventual doom. Windows 7 is as pretty as Apple stuff, just as easy to use, and does not treat you like a moron.

Preston Gralla is saying Why Windows 7 will kill Linux.

Now Microsoft may fear Linux on the desktop as much as it does the Mac. It’s finally taking Linux seriously as a desktop operating system, ad it has designed Windows 7 to kill it.

Ron Barrett is saying Windows 7 will crush Linux.

It looks like all the arguments (except being mad at Bill for being Rich) have been answered. Linux users have no reason to hold back anymore. Windows 7 is well placed to crush and put an end to the penguin.

Windows Vista require a good configuration of hardware, which won’t work well in low end notebooks. For this reason Acer and Asustek released their lower powered notebooks with Linux. But now no need to worry about the hardware. Windows Senior Vice President Steve Sinofsky showed off Windows 7 on his Lenovo S10 and said it used less than half of the netbook’s 1GB of RAM.

There are lot more features are present inside Window 7. We will see whether Windows 7 reduce Linux on desktop and make Windows XP users shift to it.

The best, secured and trusted Free online storage service for you.

Microsoft’s Windows SkyDrive is offering 25GB of free online storage space now. It previously offered 5GB. There are some other Free Online Storage Services exists. But Why Microsoft’s Windows SkyDrive?

Some services are shutting down like AOL XDrive and OmniDrive, MediaMax closed their services. The users had not downloaded their files. So, it’s very important to choose a free online storage provider.

Here comes Windows SkyDrive. We can trust Microsoft, leader of the software industry. They might not shutdown their free service, If they planned to shutdown their service, definitely allow users to download their files before shutting down. This is the first thing to check when we look for a free online storage service.

I recommend you to choose Windows SkyDrive, because of the following reasons.

25GB of free online storage space for your documents, photos and any other files.
As SkyDrive is Microsoft service and part of Windows live strategy, no need to worry about its future.
You can keep files for personal, share with only friends or share with anyone you want. And you can arrange your favorites.

You can access your files any where.
Your storage space is protected with password.
You can drag files into your online folders as you do on your PC.
You can download your folders as a local zip drive.

Enough reasons to trust SkyDrive. Start using sky drive for your online storage. We can expect many more features in SkyDrive.
