Microsoft is going to offer Free Anti-Virus Software

Microsoft Surprise! Microsoft had announced Free Anti-Virus Software to consumers. As Microsoft’s anti-malware product Windows Defender is pretty good, Windows lovers will be very happy to hear this.

The free anti-virus, code-named ” Morro “, will be available in the second half of 2009. Morro, will provide protection from malware including viruses, spyware, rootkits and trojans.

The software will be free to download and will support Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7.

As Microsoft offering free security service, Its paid security service Windows Live OneCare will be phased out and will discontinue retail sales of Windows Live OneCare subscription service beginning June 30, 2009.

This news will be difficult to digest for competitors, Specially PC Security based companies. Any way We all are to Thanks Microsoft in advance.
