Two new improvements to Google Search
Today Google added two new improvements to Google Search results pages. The First one offers an expanded list of useful related searches and the second is the addition of longer search result descriptions. New Improvements help users to get better idea what to pick from results pages.
More and better search refinements
This new technology can better understand associations and concepts related to your search, and one of its first applications lets Google offer you even more useful related searches.
For example, if you search for principles of physics, new Google algorithms understand that angular momentum, special relativity, big bang and quantum mechanic are related terms that could help you find what you need. Related terms will display at bottom generally and some times at the top of search results. See the graphic below.
Longer snippets
Google Search gives results with a dark blue title and is followed by a few lines of text (called snippet ), which together give you an idea of what each page is about. To give more context, the snippet shows how the words of your query appear on the page by highlighting them in bold.
For Longer queries, the queries having more than three words, regular length snippets may not give you enough information and context. To avoid this Google now increased the number of lines in the snippet to provide more information.
Both new improvements help guide users more effectively to the information they need, said by Ori Allon and Ken Wilder, Google Engineers.
